Busy Bees:

In the busy bee classroom, our main goal is to provide children with age-appropriate experiences, which will prepare them socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively for success in kindergarten. We facilitate the transition from preschool to kindergarten, by providing a very positive and child-centered environment.

Our classroom is theme based, meaning every week has a theme and every day we discuss a different topic pertaining to that theme. We integrate this theme into most activities throughout the day.

We also concentrate on one letter of the alphabet every week. The letter of the week is displayed in the group area and children work on recognizing this letter, practice sounding it out, writing it, and naming things that begin with the letter.

We help our children become, independent, self-confident, and enthusiastic learners and encourage them to develop good habits and daily routines. We provide activities and experiences that address all the individual needs, ability levels, and interests of our students. Through various activities in the classroom, children will learn to write and recognize capital and lower case letters, spell and write their names; recognize and identify shapes, colors, numbers, and patterns. Students will also develop their creativity, problem solving skills, large and small muscle control, and hand-eye cordination
